On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 2023, Bellingham once again celebrated its veterans with a ceremony at Bellingham Public Library. The Bellingham VFW presented the colors, and Robert & John Oliver began the ceremony with the National Anthem. After the Pledge of Allegiance, the invocation was given by Rev. David Mullen, of St. Brendan’s Church, and Sam Cowell gave opening remarks.

Guest speakers included Chris Condon, US Navy, and Margaret Johnson, US Army, followed by Keynote Speaker Staff Sergeant Kyle J. Reitnaur of the Natick Soldier Systems Center. Lori Fafard then offered poetry from Bellingham Middle School, and Rep. Mike Soter offered remarks, as well as recognition to Bellingham Middle School students Maxwell Tucker, Aria Hynes, and Rhea Briggman for winning this year’s veteran letter contest. Following the United States Armed Services Medley, Chris Condon, Margaret Johnson, and Kyle Reitnaur lay a wreath outside the library at the American flag, and closing prayer was offered by Rick Marxoux, followed by taps.
