Memorial Day Committee Grateful to Local Businesses and Groups
The Memorial Day/Veterans Committee is so grateful for the generosity given to the Memorial Day parade by some local businesses and groups.
A lot of time goes into getting ready to pay tribute to our veterans throughout town each year. Because of these donations and time, the 2O23 Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony was a success! We couldn’t have done it without these groups, given that we had to change the parade route due to road construction in town. THANK YOU! We would like to thank the following businesses for their help:
• VENDETTI BUS- donated a school bus to transport parade participants from the Town Common back to Tri-Mark when parade and/or ceremony was over. Special thanks to Kevin Penney and Denis Montgomery!
• TRI-MARK DISTRIBUTION CENTER - allowed us to use their parking lots to kick off the parade and to park our vehicles and set up our floats.
• PJ’S BAR & GRILLE - donated a buffet of food to the Bellingham VFW for all parade participants to enjoy after the parade at the VFW.
• VFW AUXILIARY- donating their time and energy in cooking burgers & hotdogs along with set up & clean up on parade day at the VFW .
• HOME DEPOT - donated all the flowers you see at the Town Common War Memorials and Memorial Squares throughout town. Allen and Sara from the Bellingham Home Depot store came out to help plant the flowers with Committee members.
• D & D MULCH - donated the mulch needed for the Town Common Memorials and the trimming of the shrubs
• Antron ENGINEERING & MACHINE SHOP - allowed us to use their parking lot to judge the fire trucks before the start of the parade
• YOUNG MARINES in the BLACKSTONE VALLEY- donated their time to spread mulch at the Town Common War Memorials, change flags at the cemeteries in town and March in the parade
• BELLINGHAM GIRL SCOUTS and BOY SCOUTS donated their time changing the flags in the cemeteries and participating in the parade.
