Operation Graduation a Great Celebration for BHS Grads

by Caitlyn McCann
The Operation Graduation Committee want to send a heartfelt thank you to the generous people within the Bellingham community. We are grateful for the parents and businesses who sponsored events, donated goods, their time and/or money over this past year. Not only did the committee raise enough money to host an all-night party for the 2023 graduates of Bellingham High at Urban Air, but with the support of this community, we were also able to award 16 scholarships to seniors totaling $8,000.
The Senior Class party began with high school graduates entering Urban Air through a balloon arch at 10:30 p.m. and ended the following morning at 5 a.m. Each graduate received a swag bag containing a Yeti water bottle, stuffed full of gift cards to stores and restaurants. The majority of graduates were in attendance. The seniors jumped, climbed and soared throughout the night. Additional party rooms were converted into areas where students engaged in additional activities such as music bingo and trivia. They had their futures predicted by a psychic, got some fresh ink by a tattoo artist, and had their portrait drawn by caricaturist. The graduates also had an opportunity to participate in escape room games; Lost Mummy of ancient Egypt and Envy 1920s murder mystery.  The crowd favorite was the hypnotist, Frank Santos, Jr.
The recent alumni of BHS enjoyed an extraordinary night with friends and classmates in which they will surely remember and reflect upon
