From the Town Clerk’s Office…
Papers for the June 3rd Local Election have been certified, and the following candidates and positions will be on the ballot. The last day to object or withdraw is May 1st, and the last day to register to vote for the Local Election is May 23rd.
Mail in Ballot applications will be accepted until May 27th, and please note you must fill out an application to receive a ballot through the mail. There’s a rigorous check and balance process to ensure fairness and accuracy. Applications will be accepted through the Secretary of State’s online portal or printed and returned to the Town Clerk’s office. More information can be found on our website at https://www.bellinghamma.org/384/Town-Clerk. Last year, our office received almost 4,000 Mail in Ballot applications for November’s election, each application signed and tracked. With a 90% return rate, this means 33% of our population successfully Voted by Mail in that election.
Our “Meet the Candidate” forum will be held at the Senior Center on May 20th from 9 to 11 am. Please stop by to meet the candidates running for office and hear their platforms and motivations. There will be time for questions and light refreshments will be provided.
We look forward to a smooth election and as always, please give us a call with any questions!
