Scenes from the 3rd Annual KMA Art Show

JB Brownlee explains the acrylic work, “Thou Shall Bite,” not only draws attention to animal abuse, but also expressed the artist’s emotions at the time.

On Thursday, May 16th, Keough Memorial Academy (KMA), of Bellingham, held its annual student art show at the Bellingham Public Library. Students and visitors enjoyed colorful displays, accompanying music, conversation, and musical entertainment.
Keough art teacher “Ace” talked about the opportunities the annual show gives the students. “Students can meet school committee members; parents can have conversations with other parents and other students. It’s a great time to get together and talk about art and everything else, community, and what inspired them.”
The Bulletin talked to a couple artists about what motivated their artwork.
Young artist Sienna Dipietrantonio created the acrylic work, “Untrust Us,” based off a favorite album “from the 90’s.”
JB Brownlee explained the inspiration for a striking acrylic work, “Thou Shall Bite.”
“It brings attention to animal abuse such as dog abuse, and it also represents my mental health at the time when I made it,” said JB, who attended the event with Mom.
