Accessible Playground Effort to Hold 3rd Touch-a-Truck June 8th

The effort toward a new inclusive and accessible playground at Stall Brook Elementary School in Bellingham continues this month. Our Playability plans its third Touch-a-Truck, planned for Saturday June 8th from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (10 a.m.-11 a.m.) will be the sensory friendly hour. Admission is $5 a person. The event will take place at the Bellingham Memorial School parking lot at 130 Blackstone St., Bellingham.
Children will be encouraged to climb aboard trucks from Santos Excavating, A Cut Above Landscaping, Lawrence Waste, MTP Communications, Marty’s Auto Body, Charron Tree, Collins Landscaping, and more!
Families can also enjoy treats and festivities from C&C Ice Cream Truck, UNOs Pizza in Bellingham, Larry Joe’s New England Fire Pit, Regal Cinemas, Home Depot and demonstrations by Riolo Iron and Leather.
The event will also feature a DJ and a Roaming Railroad with a trackless train to take little riders on a tour of the event for an additional fee per ride. Families can join in raffles for fun prizes like tickets to the Providence Bruins, passes to PINZ and Santa’s Village, a gift certificate toward camping at Normandy Farms and more. Rumor has it a helicopter may land as well! (not yet confirmed at press time)
Donations are still needed, as the $250K goal is a ways off, but you can track progress on the accessible playground goal at https://secure.qgiv.com/event/ourplayability/ , or scan the QR code accompanying this article. In addition to that figure, the fundraiser recently received a $25K grant from the state of Massachusetts.
