Bellingham Fire Dept. Invites Residents to Proposed Budget Override Info. Sessions

Sessions to be Held on May 4 and May 18

BELLINGHAM -- Chief William Miller and the Bellingham Fire Department invite residents to attend upcoming information sessions this month regarding a proposed budget override.

The Bellingham Fire Department is seeking an override of Proposition 2 1/2 to fund increased staffing for the Department.

Voters are being asked to consider a $750,000 override on Tuesday, June 4, to allow the Department to add six paramedics to meet the Town's increasing demand for services.

The Bellingham Fire Department will host the following information sessions this month:

  • Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.,  Arcand room, Town Hall, 10 Mechanic St.
  • Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Bellingham Fire Department, 28 Blackstone St.

During the information sessions, residents will have the opportunity to ask questions about the proposed override.

"I would like to encourage all Bellingham residents to attend these upcoming information sessions to learn more about the proposed budget override," said Chief Miller. "These public sessions are a great way for our community members to get involved in the process and learn more about our department."
