Be sure to mark your calendars for next month, when Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards are returning to Bellingham. They will be performing their music live at an outdoor concert at the Bellingham Senior Center, Thursday, June 2 at 5 p.m. A return engagement for the pair, they are also bringing their full band. Their music has been described as “Fresh and refined folk music for modern times.” Think live, acoustic bluegrass—guitars, banjo, bass, pedal steel, clarinet, and penny whistle. Mandeville commented recently that “We don’t take for granted being able to perform live, as opposed to offering concerts by Zoom from our house. Our music sounds so much better in person.”
This year, Mark and Raianne will be performing outside in the parking lot at the Senior Center on Blackstone Street. The Senior Center will be providing shuttle service for attendees, who will park their cars at the Bellingham High School. This concert is free and open to all ages. Bring your appetite, since the Senior Center will be providing grilled hot dogs and beverages at a small cost.

These musicians are no strangers to Bellingham residents. Last summer they offered a live concert at the Bellingham High School parking lot. In 2017 they brought their Massachusetts Walking Tour here, and returned to nearby towns for their Ten Mile River 10th anniversary tour in 2019. They are resuming their Walking Tour tradition after a two-year hiatus because of the pandemic and will be walking and offering live community concerts in 10 towns along the Appalachian trail beginning in June.
