Anyone can Paint: Oil painting classes at the Senior Center 
Join professional art instructor Darrell Crow on Wednesdays this month – 4/6 and 4/13, from 1-3 p.m. to paint “The Old Mill.”. Special senior rate of $25 per painting, all supplies will be provided except for paint brushes, easels, and paper towels. Myths & Miracles of Victorian Medicine, April 15, 1 p.m., 
Be prepared to cringe, chuckle, and ah-ha, as you discover the horrifying procedures and milestone discoveries that characterize turn–of-the-century medicine! Proper Victorian lady Miss Myrtle Mills (played by Janet Parnes, of Historical Portrayals by Lady J.) will reveal the primitive practices as well as life-saving advances of late-Victorian medicine. She will also share her sometimes conflicted perspectives on medical matters. Her appearance is funded by the Bellingham Cultural Council, which is funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

A new program for the Senior Center, the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program, and the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program is currently enrolling for Spring classes. Celebrate Volunteers: An event is being planned for next month to acknowledge all the volunteers who keep the Senior Center open and thriving. Invitations to a late luncheon and celebration are going out. If you’re a volunteer and don’t get an invite, please let us know. (508) 966-0398. The COVID pandemic prohibited such a celebration for three years and now, we’re back!
Pre-Memorial Day Concert, Friday, May 27, at 1 p.m., Ruth Harcovitz, a former Ms. Massachusetts USA, will perform songs of the World War Two era. She has performed at more than 50 senior centers across the Commonwealth. She’ll sing attired in a World War Two WAC uniform, and offer timely commentary and engaging stories. Her appearance is funded by the Bellingham Cultural Council, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Reserve your spot by calling (508) 966-0398
On May 12, our first cookout at 4 p.m. Come on out, see old friends and make some new ones. On the menu: Sausage/peppers/onions specialty sandwich, plus burgers and dogs. MMMM good! (At least everybody told me they were.) Rain or shine, and we have the new pavilion to enjoy. 
On May 21, the BESG will host a spaghetti and meatball dinner for veterans. Price is $12 each and vets eat free. Any profit we make will go to the Semper Fi Fund. This dinner was start-ed by the Corriveau family and we’re delighted to continue their efforts. RSVP, please.
