News from the Bellingham Town Clerk:

Happy Spring!
Election News
Our Local Town Election will take place on Tuesday, May 3rd at the Bellingham High School
Gymnasium. As has been the case for the past couple of years, the polling hours will be from 12 Noon until 8 p.m. There will be no Early Voting hours for this election, so anyone who is unable to make it to the polls must apply for an Absentee Ballot. Applications are available at bellinghamma.org on the Town Clerk’s webpage. If you have any questions, please contact my office at (508) 657-2830.
There will be a “Meet the Candidates” forum on April 19th, 10 a.m., at the Bellingham Senior Center. All are welcome to attend!
Dog Licenses
Dog licenses are due on April 1st. If you have not already done so, please renew your dog’s license as soon as possible to avoid any late fees. We are still working out the kinks in our new licensing system, and, experienced delays in delivery of the actual license tags, but I am happy to say that we are processing and sending out licenses daily.
Re-Districting/Re-Precincting
As you may know, with the information gathered in during the US2020 census, it became necessary to make some changes to Bellingham’s Congressional Districts, Senatorial District, and Election Precincts. Bellingham now is wholly (all precincts) a part of US Congressional District 4. This change made it possible to do away with Precinct 4A. Residents that were formerly in 4A will now be in Precinct 4. A letter will be going out to all residents involved in the precinct changes, just as soon as the Legislature has officially enacted the new district lines. Bellingham is now in a newly formed State Senate District to be called the Norfolk/Worcester/Middlesex District.
We will continue to be part of the Worcester 8th State Representative District, although the district has undergone some minor adjustments that do not affect Bellingham.
Census
The annual census continues. If you have not yet submitted your census, please do so immediately. Massachusetts General Law states that we must close out the gathering of census information by April 15th, in order for that information to become part of the calculation for state aid to Bellingham. It is important that you be counted!

Enjoy a wonderful Spring season!
