 “Cliff walked me through the mortgage process when I was buying my first home. He was clear and made a complex process very simple,” said Jennifer McLean about Cliff Bowyer, the owner of ACB Mortgage Solutions.

“One of the first things I do,” explained Bowyer,  “is get an idea of who my new client is—what are their goals and their obstacles, and what is their financial situation?” This client-centered approach is why people like Jennifer McLean have such nice things to say about Bowyer, who is a long-time Bellingham resident.

Although he opened ACB Mortgage Solutions in March, “Starting a business is not new to me,” he said. “I’ve run companies for 20 years.” Bowyer recently left a mortgage service firm to start his own and to spend more time with his seven-year-old daughter, Audrey. She is the  “A” in ACB Mortgage Solutions.

He and Audrey have collaborated on business-related projects, including a website that sells toys and collectibles—www.ACBToysCollectibles.com. They are also on Facebook, eBay, and YouTube. He coaches her softball team, composed of Bellingham first- and second-graders, and has organized a Facebook group to support the team and parents. Together, they created and wrote a  “Daughter & Daddy” series with a superhero theme (including Boston Bluey).

“As a mortgage brokerage,” explained Bowyer,  “we have partnerships formed with a dozen lenders (including Rocket Mortgage) offering a wide array of programs and eligibility criteria. We can use that to find the perfect solution and best deal for our clients.”

ACB Mortgage Solutions can help with both residential and business funding. Because of the pandemic, demand has risen for home remodeling projects, and Bowyer can help with financing options.

He has already hired a client-relations manager and two loan processers, and he is looking for one more loan officer. They all work remotely. His company will expand to include Rhode Island next year, and New Hampshire and Connecticut soon after.

“We’re making our entire process more automated,” said Bowyer. “Key are efficiency, transparency, and security.”
