Pelletier Launches Ernie’s Liquors

Dec 30, 2020 06:00AM ● By Pamela Johnson
Local resident Ernie Pelletier has opened a new business, Ernie’s Liquors. The new store is located at 191 Mechanic Street (Route 140) in Bellingham. The shop offers a wide variety of beer, craft beer, wine, spirits and ready-to-drink items. With Irish pub music and the scally caps worn by the staff, the store offers a unique shopping experience. “I wanted to create a friendly, pleasant place to shop,” said Pelletier (pictured right). For those concerned with social distancing, the store has wide aisles with plenty of room for customers to browse.  The large walk-in coolers offer 21 doors of major brands and craft beers as well as ciders and chilled wines.

The founder of Friendly Neighborhood Comics, Pelletier said that he enjoys creating businesses that are more than just stores, but become real communities. (Spoiler alert: there may be a stealth bookstore in Ernie’s Liquors.) “We already have customers who come in to talk about their favorite brands or various cocktails they’ve created,” said Pelletier. When restrictions are eased, the shop plans to offer tastings and events. For now Ernie’s Liquors offers all the major brands and many regional or unique items.

The shop’s hours are Sunday, 10am-6pm; Monday, 9am-7pm; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9am- 8pm; and Friday and Saturday, 9am-9:30pm. They can be reached by phone at 508-657-1043.

NOTE: Bellingham shirts & magnets are now available at Ernie's Liquors. Stop in and get your's today!
