UPTON – Blackstone Valley Tech is proud to announce that copies of its 2020 Annual Report are now available to the Blackstone Valley Vocational Regional School District residents.

"Our annual report provides an opportunity to go beyond the facts and figures of our operation to share student success stories, school achievements, and how taxpayer dollars are utilized," said Superintendent-Director Dr. Michael F. Fitzpatrick. "The report plays an important role in keeping the community informed of its vocational-technical education system and the return yielded on its investment."

Experiencing a state-imposed school closure in March that resulted in distance learning, we all learned in the process that not all classrooms have four walls. Working remotely, embracing technology and online tools for distance learning, administrators, staff, and students worked together to achieve classroom learning from their kitchen tables, backyards, or anywhere that inspired curiosity. Therefore, the 2020 Annual Report, titled Unexpected Opportunity, looks at how BVT reacted, adapted, and contributed during the school closure to carry out its mission in new and undefined ways during a global health pandemic.

From the challenges of a pandemic, incredible and positive change can arise. BVT is proud to be an inclusive community with a long-term goal of producing young citizens with the skills to navigate any bias they encounter with empathy and compassion. With an open mind and skilled hands, BVT students are shaping the future.

The annual report is available at www.valleytech.k12.ma.us/annualreport or by contacting the Superintendent-Director’s office at 508–529–7758 x3037.
