Soter Holds Socially Distanced Cookout for Bellingham COA

In mid-September, Representative Michael Soter hosted the seniors from the Bellingham Council on Aging at a socially distanced carhop-style cookout. Rep. Soter said it was an honor to gather and speak with these individuals.

Soter valued the chance to give back to the seniors of Bellingham. He was also very grateful for the hard work of the Council on Aging staff, who helped make this event possible. “Thank you to all of the seniors who came out...for our annual cookout. This is one of my favorite events every year and while it was delayed, I’m thrilled we were able to responsibly come together to enjoy the socially distant company of one another,” said Soter.

Soter wanted to express his immense gratitude to PJ’s Bar & Grill in Bellingham for providing the food for the cookout. Similarly, Representative Soter wanted to voice his appreciation to Urban Air Bellingham for allowing him to host his cookout in their parking lot. This large space allowed the barbecue to commence in a way that safely adhered to the CDC and DPH’s guidelines on gatherings.

“Despite all of the challenges that our small businesses have faced in recent months, PJ’s continues to serve our communities well,” he said. Soter encourages people to continue to adhere to social distancing and mask guidelines, and similarly hopes constituents will reach out to his office (617-722-2460) if they have any questions or concerns.
