Jul 28, 2016 06:00AM ● By Pamela Johnson

Overall winners of last year's BBA Golf Tournament (shown L-R) are Pam Brodeur, Karen Dutil, Dot Murray and Cindy McNulty

If you’re a golfer who also likes to help the community, then you’ll be interested to know that the Bellingham Business Association (BBA) has announced its annual golf tournament, which will be held on Sept. 12, at New England Country Club on Paine St. in Bellingham.

The BBA is an organization of business professionals who are focused on expanding their business opportunities while improving their relationships with, and gaining exposure to, other local business owners. In addition, its members are involved in many community and civic activities, helping to make Bellingham a town everyone can be proud of.

The BBA is proud to sponsor many activities and programs, such as $1500 scholarships to two graduating seniors and an annual “Unsung Hero Award” given to a dedicated individual who provides outstanding service and commitment to the community. It also makes financial contributions to many worthwhile causes and events such as Santa’s Elves, Family Movie Night, Bellingham Friends of Music, the Wrentham Developmental Center Christmas Party, BHS’s Operation Graduation, the Bellingham Library, the Senior Center and the local YMCA.
One of its most successful fundraisers is the annual golf tournament, the proceeds from which go directly to the scholarship fund.

Tee-off time is 3:30 pm sharp; format is Florida Scramble (Best Ball) for 9 holes, followed by dinner, awards and a raffle. The cost is $75.00 per golfer, which includes greens fees, a golf cart and dinner, along with an opportunity to win raffle prizes.

Non-golfers are welcome to enjoy the dinner afterwards, at 6:30 pm, at a cost of $25.00. This event, in this non-business setting, is a change of pace and always a whole lot of fun.

Sponsors Needed

The BBA is looking for tee and greens sponsors for our tournament, and also for donations of gift certificates for services, meals, etc., or items that can be raffled off. This is a great opportunity for you to get exposure for your business as well as supporting a very worthwhile cause. Bronze Sponsor—Cost is $300.00; includes company logo featured on all promotional materials; placement of company banner at 1 site during the event; quarter-page advertisement in the golf program; recognition from the podium at dinner; and recognition in post marketing efforts‚ e.g., press release.

Hole Sponsor—Cost is $75.00; includes company sign placement on a hole on the course (with other hole sponsors); recognition as a group from the podium; company listed in the golf program; recognition in post marketing efforts, e.g., press release.
Donations, such as gift cards, retail items, and promotional gifts are being solicited for our famous “after-dinner raffle” and for the goodie bags provided to participants. Cash contributions are also welcome; the BBA will use the money to purchase prizes for both the event and the raffle.

Both sponsorship and golfer’s registration forms are available at www.BellinghamBusinessAssociation.org and BellinghamMA.org. For additional information on sponsorships, golfing or attending the dinner, contact Sue Ranieri, 508-380-1643, or email Sue Grady at [email protected].
