Ostrander Insurance Celebrates 40 Years in Business

The year 2019 marks the 300th anniversary for the town of Bellingham, while July 2019 marks to the month 40 years ago when Ostrander Insurance Agency opened for business in July 1979. 

 
Much has come and gone in the 40 years since our insurance agency began. In case you haven’t noticed, the world is forever changing in ways impossible to miss and in other ways barely perceptible.

In spite of the never-ending cycle of change though, the essence of most things remains the same. Love of family and friends and a desire for good health, prosperity and community pride are ideals we all strive for in life. Surely these ideals are as true now as they were 40 years ago or even 300 years ago in 1719. 

An important part of the community dynamic is the relationship built over time between the residents of a community and the businesses within the community. From favorite pizza shops like Famous House of Pizza, trusted body shops like Marty’s and sweet tooth master chocolatiers like Pandolfi’s, what’s not to love? Like trusted neighbors and familiar landmarks around town, they are part of us. 

As an insurance agency committed to Bellingham, we try to bring a valued service to the community in ways that make for a positive difference. We take pride in supporting community activities, youth sports programs and charities that help make things a little better for all of us. The strong and supportive relationship we have with so many of you is what makes our business successful.

Our insurance agency is now supported by a next-generation insurance professional in Paul Ostrander, a fortunate part of the endless cycle of change. But remembering people and events that helped start and grow our business down through the years is also part of our heritage.

Reflecting on the wisdom of a father who encouraged me to start my own business, the goodness of former employee Lorraine Long, and former local resident Rita Badzmierowski, who encouraged me to open our office in Bellingham many years ago, all bring joyful memories while noting 40 years in business. 

Thanks to all of you who have supported our insurance agency these past 40 years. In due time, we hope to celebrate 40 more. And happy 300th birthday to the Town of Bellingham. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear you don’t look a day over 200!
