Milford Regional Medical Center Opens Renovated Fourth Floor

Apr 25, 2019 11:15AM ● By Pamela Johnson
Milford Regional Medical Center opened its newly renovated fourth floor to patients on Monday, April 22. The fourth floor is designed to accommodate the needs of cancer and palliative care patients.

After months in the making, the fifty-five year old patient floor has undergone a dramatic transformation converting two- and four- bedrooms (44 beds in all) into 15 spacious, private rooms designed specifically with the care and treatment of cancer and palliative patients in mind. Milford Regional was intent upon developing a soothing atmosphere to support not only the physical, but social and emotional needs of our patients. From murals that emanate the beauty of nature to comfortable sofa chairs that accommodate family and friends, each room has its own unique feeling of calm and serenity.

“Everyone at Milford Regional is excited to present our newly renovated fourth floor to the communities we serve,” says Edward J. Kelly, president & CEO of Milford Regional. “Through our collaboration with Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center at Milford Regional, we felt it was of paramount importance to design the renovated floor to address the unique treatment, needs and concerns of our cancer and palliative care patients. It is our hope that the new fourth floor provides an additional layer of comfort and support to them during their stay with us.”
