Library to Kick Off Summer Reading Program with Circus Maximus

May 28, 2016 05:00PM ● By Pamela Johnson

Bellingham Public Library

The Bellingham Public Library’s Summer Reading Kickoff Event, Circus Maximus, will be held on Wednesday, June 22, at 7 pm, at the Bellingham High School auditorium (for families). Kevin O’Keefe’s One-Man Circus in-a-Suitcase is an enthralling, whimsical celebration of the imagination. From his suitcase an entire circus emerges: tent, band, lights, the boisterous ringmaster Steve Fitzpatrick, the officious Mervin Merkle, the incredible Bumbilini Family, Magician to the Stars Clyde Zerbini, and Keefer—an innocent trying to run away and join the circus. However, the most important performers emerge from the audience. Each performance becomes a dialogue between the characters and the audience‚ ala light-hearted collaboration. Join us as we enjoy this wonderful way to kick off our 2016 Summer Reading Program. Drop by; the program is free and no registration is needed. Doors will open at about 6:30 pm. More information on the program is available at http://circusminimus.com/wp.
