State Senator Ryan Fattman (R-Webster) and State Representative John Fernandes (D-Milford) discussed their legislative priorities at a recent Milford Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon.

“I always appreciate the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with local business leaders, and the Chamber luncheon this week was a great opportunity to do so,” said Fernandes. “In my role as Chair of the Legislature’s manufacturing caucus, I am working to address the two main challenges businesses express to me time and again, those being the need for specialized workforce training programs, and the high energy costs in Massachusetts. Those are and will continue to be priorities for me in the coming session.”

“I think the biggest challenge facing Massachusetts in the coming years is electricity costs and utility prices,” said Fattman. “This problem has developed over the course of the past few years due to a lack of availability to natural energy resources. Finding a solution to these rising costs is one of my main priorities this legislative session.”

The Milford Area Chamber of Commerce provides business support to local and regional business in the communities of Bellingham, Franklin, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Medway, Mendon, Milford, Millis, and Upton.
