Citizens for Milford is organizing a Candidates’ Forum to be held on Thursday, October 23, starting at 7 pm, in the upper chamber of the Milford Town Hall. The forum will feature the incumbents and challenging candidates for this area’s state representative and state senator seats: State Representative John V. Fernandes (Democrat) and his challenger, Mark Reil (Republican), and State Senator Richard Moore (Democrat) and his challenger, Ryan Fattman (Republican).

This event will be free and open to the public. Constituents in Bellingham and all other towns within the Worcester and Norfolk senatorial district, as well as in the Tenth Worcester district for state representative, are invited to attend.

Candidates will be available to meet voters in the back of Town Hall starting at 6:30 pm. The forum will start promptly at 7 pm.

The first half of the evening will feature incumbent State Representative John Fernandes and his Republican opponent, Mark Reil. The second half of the evening will feature incumbent State Senator Richard Moore and his Republican opponent, Ryan Fattman.

Each candidate will have the opportunity to make an opening statement, debate his opponent by asking a series of challenge questions, answer questions from members of the audience, then make a final statement. Constituents are encouraged to bring their own questions to ask the candidates.

Although the forum will be not aired live, it will be video-recorded and available for all to watch on Milford TV and other local access outlets such as ABMI Cable 8. The forum video will also be available to watch on the Citizens for Milford website (CitizensforMilford.com) and Facebook page (Facebook.com/CitizensforMilford) within 48 hours following the event.
