Shown at the auction table, where a significant amount of money was raised (L-R) is John Murray, Ken Gerrior, Dean Hurd and Anne Morse, whose husband, Frank, volunteered his band, Morse Code, to play at the event.

Despite threatening weather, the September 13 fundraiser held for the Dana Mancini family at Chevy’s Ice Cream drew a crowd throughout the day of approximately 100 people, and raised an impressive $12,200.

“Our goal was to raise $15,000,” said John Murray, who came up with the idea for the fundraiser after reading about the Mancini family’s dire situation in the August issue of the Bellingham Bulletin. Because he fell short of that ambitious goal, Murray still has collection buckets at Chevy’s Ice Cream and in his other, neighboring business, Pool Pro & Spa.
“We’d like to thank all of the businesses that donated generously to our raffle— that alone helped us raise over $2,000,” said Chevy’s/Pool Pro’s General Manager Maria Gerrior, who was instrumental in planning the day-long event.

Thanks go out to Bass Pro Shops, Bellingham Electric, Bellingham Palace Pizza, Bliss Dairy, Boulevard Barber Lounge, Charlie’s Tire, Coachmen’s Lodge Restaurant, David Spas Hair Salon, Deep Blue Sea-Heather Anzo, Denaults Auto Repair, Georgia Nails, Kay’s Restaurant, Linh’s Nails, Mr Z’s Carpet Cleaning, Northeast Fire & Safety, Pete’s Bluebird, PJ’s Bar & Grill, Regal Cinema Bellingham, Rock & Coal Pizza and Thrifty Witch Consignment Shoppe. Thanks also go to the following companies and individuals for their generous donations: Antron Engineering, CJC Construction, Sherilyn & Thomas Chiappone, Edward & Pauline Fleury, Leonard Kahn, Leroy & Susan Manor, Normand & Claire Parenteau, Peterbrook Sawmill, Gil & Linda Trudeau, Zazza’s Auto Sales.

And of course, thanks to Chevy’s employees — Megan Fothergill, Jack Gerrior, Courteney O'Leary, Patrick Salley, Corissia Spearman and Gabby Zazza—who worked hard and donated all of their tips that day; to Mike Johnson, Kennith Gerrior and Dean Hurd, who helped set up; and to the band Morse Code and Bobo the Clown, who donated their time and services.
It’s not too late to donate! Stop by Chevy’s Ice Cream or Pool Pro & Spa on Pulaski Blvd. (across from Grumpy’s Restaurant) or visit www.GiveForward.com and click on “Dana Mancini.”Chevy’s Fundraiser for Mancini Family Collects Over $12K
