Memorial Day Essay Contest Winners Announced

A new aspect to the town’s annual Memorial Day program is an essay contest on the meaning of Memorial Day. Shown above (L-R) is Bellingham Memorial Day Committee Chairman Jim Hastings, who presented both sixth-grader Mark Joseph and eighth-grader Shawna Kenny with a plaque and a Barnes & Noble gift card in the company of Bellingham Memorial Middle School Vice-Principal—and veteran—Anthony Branco for writing the winning essays in the contest.
